Two weeks since my last entry? I'm sure you're eager to know the progress? Something like...."The entire house is stripped, the primer coat is on, and the colors have been chosen..." would be nice wouldn't it? So very sorry to disappoint you (all 2 of you that read this that is...thanks, Dad!). Unfortunately work schedules (why do we have to go to the jobs anyway?), a second property (why do we need to mow the grass in BC anyway?), a "got to get in shape for bathing suit wearing" schedule ("Run, Forrest, Run"), an upper respiratory infection (not me, but A) and a dog that seems to think she deserves an extended walk on my days off, have all collided with the paint stripping schedule...the last of these "colliders" is adorable though isn't she? Yeah, she is.
The progress is: the front lower level is stripped down to the poplar lap siding...the wood is in great shape and YES we have found a million nails and nail holes as predicted by the PO. Man it takes a long time to get 100 years of paint off of a house!
The mantra now is: "It's going to be worth it, it's going to be worth it, it's going to be worth it".
I keep repeating the mantra in hopes that I will come to believe it.
BTW, jury STILL in deliberations (I don't think they spent this long on the OJ trial) on color selection...........
