It's very funny

how when you start a very public project like stripping all of the paint off of your house (unlike a kitchen makeover or backyard-inside-the-privacy-fence project) suddenly "neighbors" you didn't even know were "neighbors" appear out of nowhere. Many compliment the work thus far, "lookin' good" or offer their own ideas, "have you thought about burning it off" (presumably with a infrared paint remover). Often these conversations include long stories of their own experiences with such projects. But what I've come to realize is deep down what drives them all to start the conversation in the first place is their concern about the answer to the following question: "Have you picked (a) color(s) yet?" While the answer continues to be, "Not yet!" they all offer their opinion on the current color scheme, "You're not keeping that green, are ya'?" or "I just love that kelly green!" or they offer ideas for what the color might become, "How does deep wine move you?" (btw, it doesn't).

So for now, I think I'll just keep the mystery alive and allow the folks on the block to continue in wonderment where we might be going with this painting project. Maybe I should make a block contest out of it: winner of the color choice contest gets to climb up the roof jacks and paint the "peaky-peak"!
